Christine Sinclair Community Centre

This past weekend, Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley and the City of Burnaby team hosted the community at the official kick-off opening for the newly named Christine Sinclair Community Centre.

Born and raised in the City of Burnaby, Christine Sinclair, captain of Canada’s women’s national soccer team and Olympic gold medalist, is the leader for most international goals scored.

“I just truly hope that this community centre serves as a hub for continued opportunity, development, and inspiration, not only in sport, but in the arts, or any path these young people choose. I hope this place allows them to find the courage to explore like I was able to do through sport,” shared Christine, during the official kick-off opening this past Saturday.

The Christine Sinclair Community Centre located at 3713 Kensington Avenue is a 146,000-square-foot facility, including a double-gymnasium for basketball, athletic studios, a weight room, and an active studio.
